About the Bard–St. Stephen's Alumni/ae Association

Frequently Asked Questions About the
Bard-St. Stephen's Alumni/ae Association
What is the Bard-St. Stephen's Alumni/ae Association?
The Bard-St. Stephen's Alumni/ae Association includes all alumni/ae of Bard and St. Stephen's Colleges. (St. Stephen's became Bard in 1934.)
Are there dues?
No, but we hope that all alumni/ae will support the College. To make a gift, please go to www.bard.edu/giving. All gifts are appreciated.
I didn't graduate? Am I included?
Yes, if you were a matriculated student who attended for at least a year, you are a member.
What does the Alumni/ae Association do?
The Association works with the Office of Alumni/ae Affairs to organize reunions during Commencement-Reunion Weekend and events around the country. Members gather class notes for the Bardian, serve as mentors for students and other alumni/ae, and help increase contributions to support the college. Additional committees pursue special projects on an adhoc basis.
How can I participate?
Contact alumni@bard.edu or one of the Board of Governors Committee chairs.
What is the Board of Governors? How are members of the Board of Governors chosen?
Members of the Board of Governors provide leadership to the Alumni/ae Association and its committees, including reunion committees.
Potential members are reviewed in January of each year by the Nominations and Awards Committee of the Board of Governors. The Committee presents a slate of nominees for approval to the Board of Governors at its spring meeting.
If you would like to recommend an alumnus/a for possible membership on the Board of Governors, please contact alumni@bard.edu.
