Student Life
Bard's stunning campus stretches over 500 acres that includes forests, streams, fields, and some of the most extraordinary architecture you're likely to see. While rural beauty adds immeasurably to campus life, Bard is in no way isolated from the world. From our international faculty and student body, to our performing arts center, art museum, and frequent campus events, Bard brings the world to the campus. And easy travel to New York City brings the campus to the world. Each incoming first-year class numbers around 500, so there's no shortage of acquaintances; yet the student body isn't so huge that students get lost in the crowd.
Diversity in all its forms is an integral aspect of student life at Bard. There are over 80 campus organizations, religious groups, political organizations, social service groups, and clubs at Bard. We have students from all 50 states and more than 30 countries, pursuing studies in all disciplines. What they all share, however, is a joy in discovery and a commitment to actively participate in both their academic and their campus-life experience.
